Anne-Kathrin Scheel

aks

Anne-Katrin Scheel used to be a biologist. Then she was a set designer at the movies. But then she turned artist. She likes working with graphite drawings and also does small sculptural works.

While she continuously experiments with different topics, she always returns to her origins, spends endless hours looking through her microscope or at a recently dismembered body and anatomic drawings. Currently she is working on a small sculpture, with the beak of an octopus as central element, which will probably be cast in resin. Scheel currently has a faible for polishable substances with metal powders. Since she is busy with anatomies, skin and bones, she will be exhibiting anatomic drawings as well.
